Project Topic Ideas

I need to choose a topic for my data science project, but every idea I think of seems too big. I came across Professional data science project writers while looking for project ideas, but I mainly need help choosing a simple topic. Would a project about shopping, weather, or sports be good for a beginner? How can I tell if enough data is available? I do not want to choose something that becomes hard to finish later.
